Non-Negotiable Standards

Non-Negotiable Standards

I was flying to Melbourne the other day when I realised that half the year is already gone! How did that happen? I guess time flies when you’re having fun and kicking goals!

After reflecting on the first half of the year, I found myself thinking about plans for the rest of the year and I realised that the big things we have coming our way wouldn’t be possible without prior planning or by doing the basics every day to ensure that big deal, finally lands in our lap.

The message here is that planning is an enormous part of any success. However, planning only gets you so far. The real ingredient to achieving success is taking action – or “doing” as I like to refer to it as.

So here’s a simple tip:

If you want to achieve your sales budgets and targets, and have a super successful first quarter of 2019/20 then use this month to set some Non-Negotiable Standards (NNS) for you and your team. This will mean you all have to commit to doing the basics every day. NNS are the things that you MUST do in order to achieve your desired tasks, activities or goals. Here’s how it can be done:

  1. Know your sales budget
  2. Know the number of sales you need every day/week/month
  3. Know your show and closing percentages
  4. Set a minimum number of daily contacts (conversations) that you MUST achieve
  5. Commit to a “Do Whatever It Takes” attitude (DWEIT)
  6. Ensure you are accountable to someone
  7. Review your results on a daily and weekly basis
